Besides the museum, seen from outside and inside, the stops are landmarks of the old town and the river: Santiago Cathedral, the Arriaga Theater, the Ribera Market, the City Hall and two churches, San Anton and San Nicolas.
The museum is the modern counterweight to those stops. Gehry's building opened in October 1997 and is covered in about 33,000 thin titanium sheets, while the Ribera Market opened in 1929 and covers 10,000 square meters.
