Guggenheim Bilbao Skip-the-Line Ticket with Guide for Pop Art and Minimalism
Ratings collected by Tiqets
This ticket comes with a guide who walks the visitor through Frank Gehry's building, which opened in October 1997 and is made of stone, titanium and glass. There are sculptures to see both outside and inside the museum.
Some of the museum's sculpture shows the range. Outdoors there are Jeff Koons' Puppy (1992), a stainless steel terrier planted with flowers, Louise Bourgeois' bronze spider Maman (1999) and Anish Kapoor's Tall Tree & The Eye (2009), made of 73 reflective spheres. Indoors, Richard Serra's The Matter of Time (1994-2005) fills Gallery 104 with weathering steel.
The galleries cover movements including Pop Art, Minimalism and Postmodern art, and the guide places the works in that context as the group moves through the rooms. At the end of the tour the audio guide takes over for visitors who want to carry on alone.
