Private Peggy Guggenheim Collection Tour with Skip-the-Line Tickets, Up to 6 (6/6)

Skip-the-line tickets are part of the booking, so nothing is left to buy at the door. Up to six travelers share one private guide, and the guiding is available in German, English, Italian, French or Spanish. The guide waits in front of the museum at Dorsoduro 701.

The guide explains the artists, the techniques and the cultural context behind the 20th-century works on the walls. They hang in Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, on the Grand Canal between the Accademia bridge and the Salute basilica. Peggy Guggenheim bought the palace in 1949 and lived in it for thirty years. It was begun in the middle of the eighteenth century and only the first of five planned floors was built, which is why the facade of Istrian stone stands so low.

Among the works in the collection are Magritte's Empire of Light, Brancusi's Maiastra, Max Ernst's Attirement of the Bride, de Chirico's The Red Tower and Picasso's The Studio. The tour is wheelchair accessible. Hotel transfers are not included, and the museum is closed on Tuesdays.
