Venice Peggy Guggenheim Collection Admission Ticket, Non-Refundable
Ratings collected by Civitatis
Peggy Guggenheim Collection.A plain admission ticket to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, and one with firm terms: it cannot be refunded or modified, so the date is worth settling before paying.
The museum occupies Palazzo Venier dei Leoni, a palace from the middle of the eighteenth century on the Grand Canal, between the Accademia bridge and the Salute basilica. Only one of its five planned floors was ever built, which explains the low facade of Istrian stone. The collection began as Peggy Guggenheim's own and opened as a museum in 1980, the year after her death.
The walls cover Cubism, Futurism, Abstract Expressionism, Surrealism and Expressionism. Picasso, Miró, Dalí, Braque and Kandinsky are among the artists, and Birth of Liquid Desires, Dutch Interior II, The Clarinet and Upward are among the works. The museum is closed on Tuesdays and open the other six days.
