Private Mercedes Trip from San Sebastián: Gaztelugatxe, 10-Course Lunch and Guggenheim
Ratings collected by Viator and Tripadvisor
San SebastianThe car sets the tone: a private Mercedes-Benz with hotel pickup and drop-off, and a return to San Sebastián at the end. The morning goes to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe, known to Game of Thrones fans as Dragonstone, where the choice is to climb the 241 steps to the hermitage or visit nearby villages instead.
Lunch is the centerpiece: a 10-course tasting menu with five wines in a 15th-century farmhouse inn. The dishes vary with the season and the day of the week, and the food photos on the page are for reference.
Bilbao follows, starting with the Old Town, the Cathedral of Santiago and Plaza Nueva, and finishing at the Guggenheim, where the private guide explains the exhibitions and the history of Frank Gehry's building, covered in titanium and opened in 1997. Entry to both Gaztelugatxe and the Guggenheim is skip-the-line. The day is long, and the operator asks for at least a moderate level of fitness: it is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health or pregnancy.
