2-Hour Bilbao E-Bike Tour: Old Town Views to Guggenheim and Zubizuri (6/6)

Two hours on an electric bike is the quick option, with a guide who stops briefly at each location for photos and commentary. The route is urban and about 9 km long, and it fits history and anecdotes into a tight schedule.

It starts along the estuary, facing the Old Town and La Ribera Market, which opened in 1929. Through Abando the ride passes the main train station, Gran Via, the Campos Eliseos Theatre, the Provincial Council and Hotel Carlton. The modern half goes by San Mames Stadium, the Athletic Bilbao ground, seen from outside, and over the Euskalduna Bridge, with views of the maritime museum, the Carola crane and the Euskalduna centre.

The last section is around the Guggenheim, where Frank Gehry's titanium building stands near Jeff Koons's flower-covered Puppy and Louise Bourgeois's spider Maman, followed by the Zubizuri footbridge and the Isozaki towers. The guide uses these buildings to explain how Bilbao changed.
